How It Works
Your College Game Plan™ experience begins with the SAS Data Center, a user-friendly tutorial to help gather & organize all the specific items college coaches will be needing to properly evaluate you as a candidate for their programs. The SAS Team holds your hand through the entire start-up phase to ensure timely completion.
Custom Recruiting Website
SAS builds and manages a state-of-the-art custom website for you, complete with academic transcripts, photos, schedules, all pertinent athletic & academic credentials, contact information and built-in video.
We produce a new edited highlight film for each grade year you’re on the program. If you choose to edit the highlight videos yourself, then SAS can feature as much video as you want, with room on your website for up to 4 videos at a time.
SAS works with your current & former coaches to collect scouting reports. We feature these evaluations on your website so that college coaches can read what your references are saying about you.
College Selection Process
SAS then leads the process of building your “target audience” or custom pool of college programs determined by how well you perform on the field and on film, how your high school and/or club coaches assess you, academic performance, physical attributes and other personal preferences.
SAS furnishes your family with a complete list of these college coaches, including college coaches’ names, their school’s website, plus coaches’ email addresses and phone numbers.
Email Marketing Campaigns
SAS composes and sends personal introductions on the athlete’s direct behalf to each college coach in their network. Each email is written for the athlete and college coaches are addressed personally by name.
A few weeks after introducing you to college coaches, SAS composes and sends personal follow-up emails to each college coach that has not yet replied to you. 90 days later, we launch a new email marketing campaign for you, again composing personal emails to each college coach by name.
SAS launches new campaigns for you every 90 days. If you have a special tournament or event coming up before your next 90 day campaign is scheduled, then we can create a special marketing campaign for that event.
Technology to Monitor College Recruitment Activity
SAS monitors interest from college coaches, including every coach that opens your emails and watches your videos. SAS creates and manages a report of this information and updates the report every 24 hours so your family can track potential recruiting interest as well.
These reports help bring valuable transparency to your college recruitment activity. They help determine which programs are and are not showing preliminary interest in you, and what you can do to jump-start dialogue with these college coaches.
College Recruiting Tips, Reminders
& Success Tools
SAS delivers frequent reminders, tips and success tools to keep athletes and parents informed of important NCAA recruiting rule changes, upcoming events and general recruiting guidance.
Each SAS client also receives a copy of our comprehensive College Recruiting Playbook, which features 100+ pages of invaluable insights and strategies to help you gain a competitive advantage over other recruits.
Additionally, parents are invited to join private social media groups and attend periodic live forums for SAS clients only.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
We received a letter/email from SAS. How did you learn about my son/daughter?
At SAS, our passion is helping student-athletes enhance their collegiate opportunities. To achieve this, our staff spends countless hours obtaining information about talented athletes through various resources. We closely track all statistical leaders on sites like MaxPreps and USA Today. We subscribe to media sites for local and regional prep sports coverage. We have representatives attending various college showcases and club tournaments. We scout players at high school games. We have strategic partnerships with high schools & organizations like the NAIA, along with independent college planners who introduce us to athletes they’re working with. And many times throughout the year, we receive direct recommendations from coaches and parents, too. So if your athlete received a letter or email from SAS, then it’s likely we learned of them from one of these resources.
When is the right time for my student-athlete to start the college recruitment process?
The college athletic recruitment process has changed dramatically. Most college coaches are now evaluating 9th graders. At the Division II level, all forms of direct communication (emails, letters, phone calls, texts and social media) are permitted June 15 following the athlete’s sophomore year. For Division III and NAIA programs, there are virtually no recruiting restrictions. In our opinion, it’s never too early to begin the process of securing college athletic offers. In fact, the entire journey can take up to 3 years to complete, so for many freshmen in high school, it’s not too early to get out in front of the situation and start getting on college coaches’ radars.
How does SAS determine the colleges to which my student's information is sent?
To project a student’s collegiate potential, SAS will take into consideration all physical vitals, statistics, athletic credentials, film evaluations, scouting reports, academic performance and/or coaches’ feedback. SAS will also rely on years of experience, general industry expertise and personal relationships with college coaches to help project a student’s college potential.
What outcomes and/or benefits can we realistically expect to see by signing up with SAS?
As with any service, results vary based on many factors. Each student enrolls with SAS with a different set of athletic skills, academic credentials and college goals. That said, SAS clients can expect to realize at least the following outcomes & benefits if they proactively participate in the program and follow the steps of The College Game Plan:
+ Communicate directly and form relationships with college coaches.
+ Open college doors that may have otherwise not been explored.
+ Avoid costly mistakes typically associated with the college athletic recruitment experience.
+ Full access to a team of college recruitment experts.
+ Position yourself to reduce college expenses as a direct result of the relationships formed with college coaches during the recruitment process.
+ Make the college athletic recruitment process more enjoyable and less stressful.
+ Have a proven strategy for identifying and secure offers from best fit colleges/universities.
Are we guaranteed a scholarship if we sign up with SAS?
Parents who enroll their athletes with SAS can realistically expect to see gains in two forms: financial savings and genuine interest in their child from college coaches. SAS makes no guarantees that college scholarships will be offered to their clients, as these decisions rest solely with the college coaches themselves.
While results vary by individual athlete, academic performance and family commitment level, SAS clients during a 3-year period (2013 to 2015) reported first-year scholarship awards averaging $31,200, which projects to a 4-year college savings of $124,800 per family (not including inflation).
Please note that families enrolled with SAS are not required to report their scholarship awards. Some elect to keep their awards confidential.
