Former Stanford University Head Women’s Golf Coach Joins Student-Athlete Showcase
“I am very excited and grateful to have the opportunity to join such a quality company as Student-Athlete Showcase,” said O’Connor. “I was fortunate to have a long and successful career at Stanford where I was surrounded by some of the best coaches in the business. In making the transition to SAS, I feel a sense of familiarity as I believe that Rex (Grayner) and Zack (Walz) are two of the best in the business; consummate professionals who are highly regarded in their field.”
O’Connor resigned from Stanford in May 2012 after a 17-year coaching reign that included 17 consecutive NCAA post-season appearances, seven top-10 finishes, a Pac 10 Championship and two conference runner’s-up. In 2007, O’Connor’s team placed 1st at the NCAA Regional tournament. She coached 16 All-Americans, 33 Scholastic All-Americans, and was voted the West Region Coach of the Year in 2001.
“On behalf of the entire SAS family, we couldn’t be more thrilled to have Caroline on board,” said Rex Grayner, the company’s founder. “Her 17 years of experience recruiting the world’s top prospects at one of the world’s elite universities will be instrumental in helping SAS deliver the most successful college recruiting outcomes for families nationally and internationally.”
O’Connor added, “The recruiting process for prospective student-athletes and their families can be a quagmire. During my Stanford career I saw firsthand how families struggled to understand the complexities of the rules and the timing of the process, and I realized that there were very few organizations dedicated to truly helping people navigate through it all. SAS is a firm that prides itself in putting the interests of the student-athlete first. I welcome the chance to share my experiences and direct knowledge of recruiting with kids who just want a shot at fulfilling their dreams of playing collegiate athletics.”
O’Connor will be relocating to Denver in August.
